Year 6 have been treated to magical tricks at Davenports Emporian this morning and are now busy researching famous magicians and solving puzzles in teams.

WW2 Museum opens its doors to the community
The year six block is still a hive of activity, with all age groups admiring the hard work that has been put into the museum stands. Parents have even joined in an air raid. It has been a great chance to show off their wonderful learning.

Ahead of FJS book week, 3H and 6H had a lovely session of paired reading. 6H gave out reading tips and shared their favourite authors with their partners.

Disco Time
Phase One a Roadshow can come every week for extra physical fitness lessons, aka the school disco. Most parents may be curled up on the sofa in blissful peace and quiet tonight but the wonderful parents of the PTA are here at the Summer Disco ensuring safe, but loud, fun!

Cross Country at North Walsham 6th February
A huge well done to all the children from Fakenham Junior School who took part in the cross country today at North Walsham. Every year group was represented and all the children put in a great performance.
Perfect Presentation Awards
Children have been working hard this term on improving the presentation of their written work. These children have been nominated by their teacher for having made the greatest improvement! During assembly the children were presented with perfect presentation bugs and then shared drinks and nibbles to celebrate.
6H create magical poetry
The photos below show examples of free form poetry created by 6H. Magic wands were used as a stimulus, vocabulary ideas collected and finally rearranged to create poetry. We found that short words with sharp consonants created excitement and a change in pace. Longer words caused the reader to slow down, and were often used to show mystery to tension in the poem.
