6H create magical poetry

The photos below show examples of free form poetry created by 6H. Magic wands were used as a stimulus, vocabulary ideas collected and finally rearranged to create poetry. We found that short words with sharp consonants created excitement and a change in pace. Longer words caused the reader to slow down, and were often used to show mystery to tension in the poem.

6H Christmas narratives

6H have been busy creating a Christmas narrative this week in literacy, working hard to achieve their writing target throughout the process. Today they have put together all their ideas and work to create an Imovie animation of their story.
