3/4T Maths Curiosity Cafe Spring 2

We had a great afternoon during our maths themed cafe. We read ‘How Big Is A Million?’ by Anna Milbourne and Serena Riglietti. The story follows a penguin on a quest to discover how big a million actually is. This really got us thinking in 3/4T as we also found it hard to picture a million. We photographed Base 10 equipment to see what it would actually look like. If we’d had enough 1000 blocks we would have built it!

We also used other maths skills like: number bonds to 10, estimating and addition/subtraction on a number line. It was great to use these skills with our adults as we ventured around the school answering maths themed questions. We also hope that it helped our adults to understand some of the methods we use in school.

Thank you to Mrs Fairbrother and all of the adults who attended and made our cafe such a success! Look out for summer term cafes coming soon.
